Beginning of the Great Depression

October 24, 1929 marked the beginning of the stock market crash of 1929. Considered the worst economic event in world history, the exact cause is still debated. Many agree, however, that there were several contributing factors. The enormous economic growth of the “roaring 20s”, inflated buyer and seller confidence, federal level interest rate changes, and even the daily buying attitude of your everyday average consumer are considered factors.

Will Rogers once said, “Too many people spend money they haven’t earned to buy things they don’t want to impress people they don’t like.” This begs the question; what kind of spender are you? There’s no better time than the present to consider your financial footprint. What can you change and improve to ensure your finances don’t crash?
