First Day of Fall
Regardless of the weather, today is the first day of fall. It’s the perfect time to use our Fall Homeowners’ Checklist to save money and avoid claims this season. Here are the three most important things to do:Â
- Inspect For Water Leaks: Did you know water damage is one of the most common causes of home insurance claims? As we head into fall, check potential problem areas like windows, roofs, exterior walls, and siding for entering water. Make repairs as needed. Also, don’t forget to winterize to reduce the likelihood of burst pipes
- Check For Heat Loss: Autumn and winter are when you want to keep the heat in, so check for heat loss around window panes, door seals, and thresholds. Keeping the heat in will reduce your energy bill and keep your heat system running smoothly.
- Tend To Your Yard: Rain, wind, snow and ice can cause tree limbs to fall. Now is the perfect time to see what needs trimming to reduce potential damages.Â
